Blue Guard Phycocyanin Complex from Terranova contains 250 mg phycocyanin per capsule. This is a blue pigment, which is obtained from the algae spirulina (Spirulina platensis). The phycocyanin (in English phycocyanin) in the product is synergistically strengthened by means of other natural substances. In addition to phycocyanin, this product contains SOD, reduced glutathione, lipoic acid, vitamin E, selenium and the magnifood complex specially developed for this product. The product is suitable for vegetarians and vegans and is also completely free of additives.
About phycocyanin
Phycocyanin is also known by the English name phyocyanin. It is a blue dye, which occurs specifically in algae. In particular spirulina is very rich in this pigment. Spirulina contains about 12-15% phycocyanin. It is not only important for the color of this algae. The pigment also helps during photosynthesis. During photosynthesis, the substance can store almost as much solar energy as chlorophyll. Phycocyanin is also called a secondary plant substance. It is not a nutrient, like vitamins or minerals, but it is a substance that can be used by the human body. Just like the carotenoids, such as beta-carotene, the active plant substance is water-soluble.
