Specially designed for Living Libations, to style your beautiful locks. These warm wooden combs feel luxurious in your hand. They are gentle on the scalp. Wood encourages good energy flow, and wooden combs protect the sacred energy of the crown chakra while protecting hair from breakage, static and split ends. And wood feels so good, you'll never go back to plastic combs again!
The handles of these combs are made of solid incense cedar wood and the teeth are made of beautiful lye-treated rosewood. We offer fine, medium and wide tooth combs to suit all hair thicknesses and styling needs. Having the right tools for your beauty needs is essential. Nadine from Living Libations uses all three combs herself. Here are some tips and tricks to get the most out of your comb:
Medium Tooth Comb: Massage your scalp and before combing your hair in the morning. The thicker teeth in this comb increase circulation to the scalp and distribute natural hair oils (sebum) for super shiny and dandruff-free hair.
Wide Tooth Comb: For creating beach curls and wavy ringlets. Comb through fresh curls to release tight clumps and activate curls.
The five wonders of a wooden comb:
- Manage static electricity
In the tradition of kundalini yoga (and many other ancient traditions) hair is strongly connected to the energy of the human being. When you cut your hair, you disrupt the energy to the brain. Also static electricity around the head and hair can interrupt or disrupt the energetic flow to the brain. Wooden combs do not generate static electricity, so they help protect the sacred flow of energy between the hair and the mind.
2. Vigoration
The teeth of a wooden comb massage and strengthen the scalp, which improves blood circulation. This in turn promotes healthy hair growth. Brushing your hair with a natural brush and combing it with a natural comb also activates all the acupressure points on the scalp.
Try combing your hair before tasks that require creativity or mental focus.
3. Let your hair shine!
Combing your hair with a wooden comb helps to evenly distribute the scalp’s natural oil (sebum). Regular combing prevents and improves dandruff and dryness of the hair, as oil production is stimulated and delivered to the ends of the hair.
4. Wooden combs are easy to clean.
With the help of a wooden comb, daily dirt can be removed from the scalp and hair. The sturdy, strong teeth loosen dandruff and dirt and activate blocked hair follicles.
Consider using a wooden comb as a dry brush. Add a drop or two of an ounce of essential oil to the bristles of the comb before brushing through your hair. This is also a great way to perfume your hair for a scent that will last all day.
5. Gently detangle the hair.
The wide tooth combs are gentle, effective detangling tools for all hair types. Start at the tips of the hair and work your way up as the wooden teeth gently detangle your hair, without breaking or damaging it
Cleaning your wooden comb
Avoid prolonged exposure to water to prevent your comb from becoming dull and swelling causing the sections to separate. Jojoba and coconut oils are great for cleaning and conditioning our wooden combs. Apply a small amount of oil to a clean cloth and carefully work the cloth between each tooth to remove any debris. If there is any build-up of hair product on the comb, use an old toothbrush to gently remove it. For fine tooth combs, try using a piece of floss between the teeth to help remove any debris. Remove any remaining oil with a soft absorbent cloth.
