The special thing about bamboo salt is that it contains a very high concentration of minerals. Bamboo salt is therefore much more than an aromatic seasoning.
Bamboo salt (Jukyeom) is a unique type of salt from Korea. It was developed by monks 1000 years ago as a health remedy for the Korean people. It is made in a traditional way and by hand by burning.
During the repeated baking processes, the impurities in the salt are removed or neutralized. The minerals such as calcium, potassium, iron, copper and zinc are increased, partly because the minerals of bamboo, clay and pine wood also pass into the salt. The bamboo salt also gets a high sulfur content through the baking process. This makes the salt very alkaline (pH value between 9 and 12), while most types of salt are acidic. Bamboo salt can therefore have a neutralizing effect on acidic food, which forms a good breeding ground for many diseases.
Our modern diet contains far fewer nutrients than, say, 50 years ago, while today we need more nutrients to break down pollution and chemicals in our bodies. Minerals activate vitamins and set enzymes in motion that remove waste. No vitamins without minerals. Salt ensures that nutrients are properly transported through our bodies and absorbed by our cells.
Bambu Salz Bamboo salt 2x roasted (fine)
The special thing about bamboo salt is that it contains a very high concentration of minerals. Bamboo salt is therefore much more than an aromatic seasoning. Sea salt is already an interesting type of salt with many minerals by nature. But processing it into bamboo salt offers additional advantages:
- Removing impurities: Our seas are very polluted. The traditional burning process above 1300°C in making bamboo salt is a scientific method to remove all chemicals and impurities from sea salt.
- Make minerals more absorbable: Minerals from the ground are not easily absorbable by the human body and not all minerals in sea salt are absorbable by humans. Through the baking process at high temperature, the elements or minerals form other components, which makes them very well absorbable by the human body.
- Combining beneficial natural minerals: By baking them together, we can combine natural minerals from bamboo, clay and resin with salt. So in bamboo salt you will also find minerals that would not otherwise be found in sea salt. Bamboo has been used in Asia for centuries as a medicinal herb for various ailments.
