What is Fulvic Acid?
Fulvic acid is a constituent of humus in the soil. Humus is the fertile layer of decomposed plant matter on which the plants in the soil feed. It is formed by good bacteria in the humus layer. Normally, therefore, it is part of the humus. As long as the humus layer in the soil is in balance, sufficient fulvic acid is formed and the plants can absorb it with their roots. The substance serves many purposes for the plant; it is multifunctional. First of all, it transports the minerals that the plant absorbs from the soil to the inside of the cells. In addition, it kills all kinds of fungi, bacteria and insects, a defence that the plant badly needs. If people then eat the plant, they will get enough fulvic acid.
On the importance of Fulvic Acid
Nature intended for us to get enough fulvic acid, but unfortunately this is no longer the case due to modern agriculture. Modern farming methods eradicate the bacteria in the soil through the use of pesticides and fertilisers. As a result, fulvic acid is no longer produced in the humus layer. This not only leads to deficiencies in the plants, but also in the people who eat them.
