Located on the sunny coast of Kona, the nursery receives Nutrex Hawaii more sunlight than any other coastal location. As a result, Spirulina Pacifica grows continuously for 12 months of the year under the best conditions. Nutrex Hawaii is the only microalgae farm in a that prohibits the use of harmful pesticides and genetically modified organisms. As a result, this Spirulina Pacifica is grown without the use of harmful pesticides and herbicides. It also prevents land erosion and water pollution.

Nutrex's Sprirulina is bred using 100% drinking water. This water was collected from the pristine waters around Hawaii. Both the surface water and the deepest waters are used for cultivation. The water is then filtered through lava rock. Because of this water and the way it is produced, it adds a high amount of trace minerals and elements to the Spirulina.
